5 Tips to help your Christmas Wrapping be more eco friendly.
Did you know that many wrapping papers are not recyclable? This can be for reasons such as they're covered in glitter, its been laminated in a thin layer of plastic or it has shiny metallic elements in it...
It also can't be recycled if it still has cellotape on it. So what can you do?

It's getting much easier now to find more eco friendly options
1) Furoshiki is the Japanese art of wrapping presents in cloth/fabric (swipe to see) which can either be re-used for the same purpose or becomes part of the gift. The knot tying can be a little fiddly if you're all thumbs like me, but its great once you've done a couple.

2) Use brown parcel paper
- This can be prettied up with ribbons, raffia or string all of which can be reused indefinitely, greenery, or even dried fruits.
We actually love making each gift as unique on the outside as the person we're gifting to.
Please don't be tempted to draw or pain on the paper though as this will mean it cannot be recycled!

3) You can buy recycled and recyclable paper from companies like @rewrappeduk or @planetwrapit who have done all the design work for you!

4) Use old newspapers or magazine to wrap. These can look surprisingly good and also make every present unique

5) Whatever recyclable wrapping you opt for make sure to use paper tape instead of cellotape. This can be recycled which means you don't have to spend hours picking it off, or throw all your paper in the bin. You can find our favourite paper tape via link in bio.

When you were a kid did you get a chocolate selection box in your stocking? It was one of my favouite things, it was the most chocolate I ever had all at one time. But if you have a dishwasher, it can be a more eco friendly option than washing up by hand. Using less water, - and energy to heat said water - even if you use a bowl. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you do have a dishwasher though, don't be setting it off 2 or 3x a day. Wait until it's full or the end of the day at least as this increases the water/energy efficiency to dirty dish ratio.....Technically that's probably not a thing...but you get what I mean 🙂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🐝All of their packaging is plastic free. Not only that it's recycled paper, & was originally sourced from sustainable forests. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
