Still plenty of jobs to be done out in the garden this month to ensure good supply of produce over the next few months.

The weather has been warm and dry for several weeks now so ensure that your veg are getting enough water.

The general rule here is a really good soaking once a week is better than a little sprinkling every day.

Keep on top of weeds. Spending a small amount of time doing this a couple of times a week will prevent them becoming a big problem.

When we think of the environment, we can get caugh

When we think of the environment, we can get caught up thinking of the world as a whole, as something 'out there' away from us.
We think about rainforests, oceans and polar ice caps, the big things. And when we do this it can feel out of our control.

We forget that environment is "the surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or plant lives or operates"

The environment is our home, our garden, our street, village or town. It is where we are. When it feels like we cannot make a difference or when it feels too much. Remember that you can control the environment that you live in. You can do 100s of little (or bigger) things right where you are. And they are all important, they all count and they all send ripples out wider than you know.

So when the world's environment seems too much, think about the environment that is your world. Start there.
