Wikaniko works with local tree planting organisations around desperate developing countries planting millions of trees every year. We make it easy for you to sponsor and plant trees online to help fight global warming and the climate crisis.

At present, we are concentrating on tree planting in Ethiopia.
Through our projects we plant a wide range of tree types including both indigenous trees and fruit trees in Africa and other tropical locations. We ensure the trees that you sponsor provide as many benefits to the local communities as possible, and help save the environment.

Each tree absorbs approximately 25kg of carbon emissions each year meaning 1 ton is removed from the atmosphere over a 40 year lifetime. The trees convert this Co2 into things people can use like food, shelter and medication and thus carbon offsetting is not the only benefits of trees to our environment. To help absorb carbon emissions and reduce your carbon footprint, offset your emissions by sponsoring trees and planting online. Trees are an accepted form of Carbon Offsettting by the Kyoto Protocol and the tree planting projects comply with UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Climate Control Convention).
