Laundry Starch
This Laundry Starch is a product that has been used for generations as a ‘crisper’ and stiffener for fabrics. Use on tablecloths, napkins, uniform shirts etc.
Blended from 100% natural products and naturally occurring minerals, our starch is of a very high quality. It contains no animal products and has not been tested on animals. Using traditional laundry starch will keep your napkins, table cloths, bed linen and shirts crisp and fresh.
Traditional Laundry Starch saturates the individual fibres, whereas a spray will sit on top of the fabric, and not acheive the results you require. No matter how good the spray starch is, it will never be able to compete with the real thing.
Directions for use
Hand Starching (Best Results)
1. After washing, spin or wring out articles
2. Dissolve 4 level scoops of starch (approx 3 heaped tablespoons) in a little cold water
3. Add 2 pints (or 1 litre) of boiling water, stirring continually, then add 2 pints (1 litre) of cold water
4. Immerse each item separately and wring out
5. Allow to dry naturally and iron whilst damp
Machine Starching
1. Stop the machine as it reaches the final rinse
2. Add 5-6 heaped scoops of the starch dissolved in approx 150ml of hand hot water to the fabric conditioner compartment of your washing machine
3. Restart the machine immediately to complete the final rinse
4. Remove items when the machine has stopped
5. Allow to dry naturally and iron whilst damp
Heat is Essential
Direct heat - ie a reasonably hot iron - applied to naturally-dried, damp fabrics is essential to get satisfactory results. Tumble-drying may lessen the effect of the starch, as will allowing the items to dry fully without ironing. If this happens, spray the items with water.
